Debra Girard
I am over 55 years of age and looking for a large single or preferably a 1 bedroom. I am not sure I would qualify for Elderly, but some places accept 55+ tenants. I am currently looking for something that would be available in at least 1 year, since I am transferring my Shelter Plus Care certificate, from the city of L.A. to a regular Housing Choice voucher. I am well educated, an artist/poet who works in collage and watercolor. I don’t make money from it. I am on Social Security Disability, and have lived at my present address since 1997, so I am not very transient, and I have a good rental record. I am clean and responsible, although I don’t have strong credit. But I have never had a problem with renting a place with little or no credit.
