HI,
I stay in New Orleans and on section 8 i would like to relocate to montgomery, al, is there a possibilties i could transfer to montgomery with the section 8 program?
I live in Selma, AL and currently receive Section 8. I would like to transfer to the Montgomery area and would like help finding an apartment that accepts the housing voucher. My lease is up Jan 31,2011 so I do not have much time to look. I tried seaching earlier, but was told to wait closer to the end of my lease to call back for transfer.
Why are there so few section 8 rentals for families? In Montgomery many homeless are invisible and are just moving from one friend or family member’s couch to another because there is little real assistance from city or county other than providing a meal every now and then. Poverty is widespread and no one is truly addressing it with programs that work to end the problems women and children faced with lower wages, no real home, transportation, and necessities to live well. Montgomery, Alabama, City Leaders are wasting time when it comes to solving these very real problems that lead to crime. Housing needs for poverty stricken people need to be addressed and improved immediately.
